Circumventing PBA Ban

UNABLE TO GIVE UP THEIR LUST FOR BLOOD & MONEY, abortionists have modified their technique to kill late-term prenatal babies before partially delivering their bodies and smashing their skulls, according to media reports.

The lethal injection method is being used, reports WorldNetDaily (WND) citing the BostonGlobe as source, “in order to avoid any chance of a live birth” or of prosecution under the recently upheld federal Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act.

“The National Abortion Federation has been impressed with the effectiveness of the lethal drugs,” reports WND, “and has developed a protocol for using digoxin for its members and is providing them with training.” [Lethal-injection abortion has been used in certain hospitals for several years, but the WND/Globe report suggests it is now spreading to free-standing abortuaries in response to the criminalization of partial-birth abortion.]

What about the effect on the expectant mother? “Some case reports suggest a danger to the woman,” reports WND, “if one of the common drugs used, potassium chloride, is accidentally injected into her. … But Dr. Mark Nichols, professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Oregon Health & Science University,” reports WND, “does not give women a choice if their baby is over 20 weeks’ gestation; the injection is required.

“‘I guess I’m a little bit more concerned about the risk for the faculty and staff here,’ he said,” reports WND. “So concerned over possible prosecution is [Mr.] Nichols,” reports WND, “he will no longer allow medical and nursing students to observe late-term abortions at his clinic, fearing someone might lodge a criminal complaint.” That, at least, is a blessing.

“Three major Harvard-affiliated hospitals – Massachusetts General, Brigham & Women’s and Beth Israel Deaconess,” reports WND, “have made lethal injections in the womb a standard operating procedure for abortions at 20 weeks gestation or later. ‘No physician even wants to be accused of stumbling into accidentally doing one of these procedures,’ Dr. Michael F. Greene, director of obstetrics at Massachusetts General, told the Globe,” as reported by WND. We have an alternative suggestion for them: Just don’t abort the baby!

‘Knights’ Reaffirm Commitment to Life

THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS HAVE OFFICIALLY BARRED pro-abortion politicians from participation in events sponsored by the major Catholic men’s organization.

The action was taken earlier this month by delegates to the Knights’ 125th annual convention in Nashville.

The resolution, reported by Elizabeth O’Brien for LifeSiteNews.com, reads, “‘… We reaffirm our long-standing policy of not inviting to any Knights of Columbus event, persons, especially public officials or candidates for public office, who do not support the legal protection of unborn children or who advocate for the legalization of assisted suicide or euthanasia.’”

The resolution went on, reports Ms. O’Brien, to exclude “‘such persons from renting or otherwise using facilities over which we have control or speaking at Knights of Columbus events or bestowing on them honors or privileges of our Order of any kind, or inviting them to serve as honorary chairpersons of events, celebrations or committees or [to] hold office in the Knights of Columbus.’”

And the Knights “stated their official opposition,” reports Ms. O’Brien, “to political moves towards allowing any scientific or clinical methods that jeopardize human life,” stating, reports LifeSite, “‘We renew our deep commitment to oppose any governmental action or policy that promotes abortion, embryonic stem cell research, human cloning, euthanasia, assisted suicide and other offenses against life, and … we continue to speak out to our elected representatives about the need to enact legislation to oppose these practices and protect human life in all its stages.’”

The Knights “called for laws protecting medical professionals and Catholic hospitals from acting against their conscience,” reports Ms. O’Brien, and “resolved to ‘support programs that provide women facing crisis pregnancies with alternatives to abortion, including adoption,’ and to ‘support projects that provide spiritual support to those women suffering from the traumatic emotional and psychological after-effects of abortion.’”

PP Launches Sneak Attack

PLANNED PARENTHOOD IS PREPARING TO OPEN a massive new abortuary in Chicago-suburban Aurora, Illinois. The building is set far enough back from public roadways to present unique challenges to the Chicago-based Pro-Life Action League (PLAL) and other pro-life citizens whose ministry to the unborn includes “sidewalk counseling” to dissuade their mothers not to enter the chambers of death.

And it is among the largest free-standing abortuaries ever seen by PLAL president Joseph Scheidler, who has reputedly “visited” more baby-killing centers than anyone else.

But what has attracted significant media attention to this $7.5 million edifice is the secrecy which has shrouded its development.

Though the business is scheduled to open in September, its true nature as a Planned Parenthood outpost has been discovered only within the past six weeks, and the subterfuge which surrounded its construction has drawn sharp criticism from the League, from local citizens and from even the Chicago press.

The development was approved by Aurora’s Planning & Development Committee last November, but the applicant was listed as “Gemini Office Development LLC,” which turns out to be a PP subsidiary. The building purpose was listed as medical offices.

Contractors working on the project believed they were working for “Gemini” and that they were engaged in building a medical complex.

It was only when one construction worker realized that such high-security features as bulletproof glass and security cameras were being built into the final stage that suspicions – raised by that conscientious crew member – led to the discovery of the building’s true purpose. The worker contacted his priest, who referred him to Mr. Scheidler, according to Kristen Zambo, staff writer for the Aurora Beacon News.

Mr. Scheidler’s interest was immediately piqued, especially because his son Eric lives in Aurora. The PLAL is now mounting demonstrations in Aurora and on Aug. 9 launched a 40-day prayer vigil focusing on the Aurora shop, which is scheduled to open Sept. 18.

Aurora-focused citizen protests are being coordinated by Fox Valley Families Against Planned Parenthood, founded by PLAL to mobilize local efforts to halt what Mr. Scheidler calls the “abortion fortress.” The group has launched an Internet website with the lengthy address, www.familiesagainstplannedparenthood.org, to enlist support.

The challenge is bringing out new prayer warriors, says the League’s own website, www.prolifeaction.org. “Pro-lifers – many of whom have never done anything active in the movement before – have been praying around the clock at the site since 8 a.m. Thursday morning, Aug. 9. Churches of all denominations from throughout the Chicago area are taking part,” reads the website report, “with many assuming responsibility for filling the slots for an entire day of the vigil. ‘This is the most powerful grassroots pro-life effort I’ve ever seen,’ remarked [Mr.] Scheidler” in his PLAL website announcement. “‘We can scarcely keep track of the prayer pledges coming in. The people of Aurora and their neighbors in nearby towns,’” he said, “‘do not want an abortion clinic here. Period.’”

Concerned citizens from across America can take part in their own homes and communities as well, praying to the loving God Who created each of the tiny human beings whose lives are threatened every day by the abortion industry for which Planned Parenthood takes the lead.

The End of Abortion?

A CAMPAIGN TO ‘TRANSFORM’ OUR COUNTRY and “mark the beginning of the end of abortion in America” has been launched via an Internet website, www.40daysforlife.com.

Aimed at the 40-day period of Sept. 26 to Nov. 4 in reflection of 40-day periods of exceptional movements of God recorded in scripture—through Moses, through Noah, through Jesus, through His disciples—the effort hopes to mobilize thousands of praying citizens to intercede for babies in the womb and their families.

Organizers for 22 cities have enlisted in the concerted prayer, outreach and action campaign, according to a report by Rusty Pugh and Jody Brown on the American Family Assn. news website OneNewsNow.com.

Dramatic results are already reported from cities where the intense 40-day vigil was piloted earlier this year. “Participants in Green Bay, Wisconsin,” write the OneNewsNow reporters, “report seeing two babies saved from abortion during the first hour of their campaign. As a result of the campaign in College Station, Texas,” write Mr. Pugh and Ms. Brown, “the local abortion rate dropped 28%. And in nearby Houston, one of the most notorious abortion clinics shut down after 20 years of operation when concerned Christians undertook the campaign and followed the directives found in II Chronicles 7:14,” which, quoting the Lord, reads, “‘If My people, who are called by My Name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My Face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.’”

Spokesman Carmen Pate told the OneNewsNow reporters “the pro-life campaign is built on coalitions of local churches and believers. … ‘We feel that as a nation,’” she said in the Pugh/Brown report, “‘we need to be called to repentance and prayer and fasting. That’s what it’s about.’”

Calling All ‘Real Women’

PRO-LIFE WOMEN ARE BEING CALLED TO WASHINGTON for a day of briefings, training and lobbying on Capitol Hill.

The Wednesday, Oct. 18, event will be the third annual “Real Women’s Voices” opportunity hosted by the Virginia-based pro-life political action and lobbying organization, Susan B. Anthony List. (Yes, suffragette Susan B. Anthony was fervently pro-life, despite the usurpation of her memory and image by the radical feminist movement.)

Abortion: The Devil’s Masterpiece

A few weeks ago, I visited Leroy Carhart’s partial-birth abortion mill in Omaha, Nebraska, and beheld for a few uncomfortable moments a totally repulsive center of human wickedness.  Just looking at the dilapidated former car repair garage turned into baby-killing factory and the squalor of the entire surrounding area, I could not help but notice that the evil of abortion degrades everything that it touches. Abortion is not only a social plague; it is also the spiritual negation of God’s entire plan for man’s happiness and eternal welfare. Whenever God says “Yes” to life and fertility, the devil yells a resounding “No!”

Abortion’s spiritual power is its perfect violation of all the commandments. First of all, most abortions are the result of sins against the sixth or ninth commandments (adultery/fornication/lust). Abortion is certainly a sin against the fifth commandment prohibiting murder. Likewise, it violates the third commandment, because the vast majority of babies are killed on abortion’s heaviest business days, Saturdays (the Sabbath).

Abortion is also a reversal of the fourth commandment where father and mother “dishonor” the child in the most heinous way and, in doing so, curse the holiness of God (second commandment), which is manifested in the only creature made in His “image and likeness.”

As a false religion, abortion is a violation of the first commandment forbidding the worship of any other gods but the Lord, and this religion is undoubtedly fed through a highly sophisticated system of falsehoods and deceits (eighth commandment) which lead women into the abortion chambers.

Furthermore, abortion literally steals (seventh commandment) both our personal and national futures by depriving us of children! Anyone concerned about the present immigration issue should remember that the presence of more than 40 million Hispanic immigrants in this country tracks the destruction of 47 million of our own children by abortion since the Roe death decision. The saying “nature abhors a vacuum” is as true in demographics as it is in physics.

Finally, the tenth commandment (coveting our neighbor’s goods) is about the capital sin of greed, the very thing that drives so many of the abortionists to do the killing work. Abortionists often claim to hate abortion, but they love the money behind it.

Abortion is like a huge spiritual vortex of sin pulling people into it, and even the Church can be compromised by this evil, too. Most of the sins listed above are sins of commission, but the Church’s sins are generally sins of omission, which abortion inspires: the terrible silence of the clergy on this topic, heretical “Catholic” politicians who are never disciplined by bishops, the easy justification of abortion by Catholic educators, the moral compromise by Catholic medical personnel on abortifacient contraception and sterilizations, etc.

I am sure the devil just laughs and pats himself on the back when he sees the Church, that has the spiritual power to undo “all his work and all his empty promises,” sitting back and pretending that abortion is a non-issue.

All of this is to point out that abortion is a spiritual power that negates God’s plan for love, life and the family. It not only destroys bodies but destroys souls, which, from the point of view of eternity, represents the devil’s greatest masterpiece of evil.
